Autumn Practices
Autumn has arrived and our Yoga and Qigong sessions will flow with the changing seasons.
Expect warming and hydrating practices to build a steady strength and a calm and focused mind.
In Yoga and Ayurvedic theory we are moving to vata dosha season - When balanced this dosha encourages creativity, spaciousness, thinking outside the box. When in excess vata can bring a feeling of dryness to the body, a scattered mind, excessive coldness. Our Posture work can help to gently heat the body, hydrate the joints and digestive organs, and bring the mind into focus.
In Qigong we have moved into the Chinese metal phase of Autumn. Some qualities here are sharpness, strength, determination and clarity. If slightly out of balance metal can show up as using sharp and cutting words, being judgemental, and a bit overly-structured. Our forms will also look at keeping the metal organs of lungs and large intestine healthy.
There’s classes every day to choose from - some have online options available too. Take a look at our timetable.
